  4. Purpose:

  6.   PDUMP is a utility program written 
  7. specifically for the Atari Portfolio 
  8. that will display file data in Hex/ASCII 
  9. format.

  20. The output lines start with the decimal 
  21. byte position in the file followed by 
  22. the hexadecimal values then the ASCII 
  23. characters.
  24. Some special characters are displayed
  25. as a period.

  28. To run the program type the program name 
  29. followed by a space then the filename. 
  30. e.g.
  31. pdump pdump.txt
  32.  
  33. If an invalid filename is entered, the 
  34. message "Cannot open file:" will be 
  35. displayed.
  36.  
  37. When the program is activated, 8 lines 
  38. of dumped data will be displayed.
  39.  
  40. To scroll forward 8 lines, press 
  41. return.
  42.  
  43. To scroll forward or backward 1 line,
  44. press the up or down arrow keys.
  45.  
  46. To return to the beginning of the file 
  47. press the "HOME" key.
  48. To jump to the end of the file, press 
  49. the "END" key.
  50.  
  51. To exit the program use the "ESC" key
  52. or CRTL-C.
  53.  
  54. The computer will beep if the
  55. beginning or end of the file is
  56. reached while scrolling.
  57.  
  58. The program was written using Microsoft 
  59. C v6.0 and compressed using the LZEXE 
  60. utility.
  61.  
  62. This program can be copied and 
  63. distributed freely. It cannot be sold
  64. or used for commercial purposes without
  65. permission.
